With the early February heat already settling across the Eastern Cape, we welcomed Matt Sheick from Michigan to camp for a short but action-packed South African hunting safari. From the moment he arrived, Matt was eager to get into the field and experience what an African plains game hunt is all about.

The safari got off to the perfect start on the very first morning when Matt connected on a beautiful Impala ram. The early success set the tone for the days ahead and gave everyone in camp plenty of excitement as the season was just beginning to unfold.
As the safari continued, Matt and PH Morne spent long hours working through thick bush and carefully stalking across the open grass plains in search of quality animals. The warm conditions meant early starts were essential, with most of the hunting taking place before the midday heat became too intense.

Patience and persistence paid off when Matt harvested an impressive Eastern Cape Kudu bull along with a magnificent Warthog. Both animals offered memorable hunting experiences and showcased the variety and challenge that make hunting safaris in South Africa so rewarding.
The final mornings of the safari produced even more success, with Matt adding a fine Springbuck and Blesbuck to his growing list of trophies. From cautious stalks through thorn thickets to carefully planned approaches across open country, every hunt brought its own excitement and challenge.
Early season safaris are always a good indicator of what lies ahead for the rest of the hunting season, and this hunt certainly gave us plenty to look forward to. It was a fantastic time in camp with great hunting, good company, and unforgettable memories made in the African bush.
We thoroughly enjoyed having Matt in camp and look forward to welcoming him back for another South African hunting adventure in the years to come.
